Circuit Basics In any electrical system, current must flow in order to get any work done like turning a motor. Just hook the three ESC output wires to the three motor wires and test run the motor at low speed. If it turns the wrong way for your application, just swap the connections of any two of the three wires.
Disconnect the battery during installation. Tighten nuts on the backclamp only slightly more than you can tighten with your fingers. Six inch-pounds of torque is sufficient. Overtightening may result in damage to the instrument and may void your warranty. The tachometer should be located at least 18″ from a magnetic compass. Some interference erratic operation may be noticed on the tachometer during radio transmissions. Be certain to use stranded, insulated wire not lighter than 18AWG that is approved for marine use.
Using a small screwdriver, SLIGHTLY depress and turn the selector switch on the back of the tachometer to the correct position to match the number of poles in the alternator see label on the side of the tachometer. Depressing the switch too hard may cause damage to the tachometer! Be sure the selector switch has locked into the detent at the correct position by slightly rotating the switch back and forth with the screwdriver. See detail on next page. People at campgrounds are some of the friendliest most helpful people you will ever meet. I have seen it time and again when a camper pulls in and they are having problems with something and their next door neighbor, whom they never met, is right there to assist them. I have also observed and assisted several campers who were new to RVing and not really sure how to set their unit up when they arrive at the campground. While talking to these new Rvers it came up more than once how they wished that they had a checklist to follow to make things easier.
I compiled over 25 checklists in an attempt to cover all aspects of RVing. This is an excerpt from the book to assist new campers when they arrive at the campground. However most RVs do have many things in common and that is what we will concentrate on. The purpose of this checklist is to provide a basic system of what to do when you arrive at your site. Use only the items that apply to your RV and feel free to tailor the list to your needs. If you are in a motor home and are towing a vehicle you may want to disconnect the vehicle in the campground registration parking lot before going to your site.
Have someone drive the vehicle in front of you to assist in locating your site. Conduct a site survey. Identify where all campground connections are and where you want the RV located to have access to all connections. Take into consideration where slide outs will be and if there is room to put the awning out.
One way to control the speed of the wiper motor is with a motor speed controller. Here’s a link to a motor speed controller in kit form. Here is what the clutch cable connection should look like at the motor. The larger spring is a heat shield for the clutch cable: Standard mounting to 28mm tube. STEP 8 Screw in the fuel valve filter combo into the tank and then mount the tank. Wrap top frame tube with bar wrap where tank clamps are. Often they will freeze up after the bearings seize or they will draw the wrong amperage and stop working. A condenser fan motor is responsible for pulling air out of a unit pulling it out past the condenser, much like a fan and radiator in a car or truck. During the summer when it is hot it will blow the heat away from the condenser through its fins cooling down the refrigerant that flows inside. When a condenser fan motor goes bad often the HVAC unit will work initially then stop.
For example during the summer when it is hot and a unit is turned on it will at first blow cold air then after a short period it will stop and blow room temperature air. A simple way to tell if a unit has a bad condensing fan motor is to turn the unit on and stand next to the condenser. The fan at some point should kick on and blow out air. The fan does not run constantly only when needed but if twenty minutes or more go by and the fan does not kick on then there is most likely a problem.
When a fan motor is not spinning a small stick can be used to reach the blades and give them a nudge which sometimes will get it running again but will soon stop. If the motor will not spin at all then the bearings are most likely are bad and the motor will need to be replaced. Be careful when working with a fan motor the blades turn at a high RPM and can cause injury. Never put arms, fingers or any body part in the path of the blades. Also before removing a condensing fan motor be sure the power to the HVAC unit is off.
A bad motor can suddenly start working again and if not bolted in place will spin out of control causing damage.
